Fire Main Upgrade (SITE)
Stage one of the fire main upgrade was to provide water for fire protection around the redefined perimeter of the open cut. The initial contract was awarded to Primaweld in 1996 at a value of $900,000. A second and third contract was awarded to Primaweld, early 1997 and completed in December 1997. Primaweld's responsibility under the first contract was to install a 2.7km 750 diameter pipeline and subsequently upgrade a 1200 diameter pipe line which included NDT, Denso Wrapping, Holiday Testing and Hydro Testing
